Qualification & Experience

After completion of his fellowship in Australia, Dr Hiremath joined Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, UAE as an Associate Staff Physician in cardiac surgery where he was a part of a world class heart and vascular institute. He was appointed as an Assistant Professor in Cardiac surgery at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of medicine, Ohio. Dr Hiremath closely collaborated with the cardiology and vascular teams at Cleveland Clinic and was involved in extensive cardiac, heart failure and aortic work. He developed the Modified Branch-first technique (MBFT) of open thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm surgery which greatly reduces bleeding, spinal cord ischemia and visceral ischemia. The world’s first case of MBFT was performed successfully on a young patient in UAE who did not receive any blood transfusion for a open thoracoabdominal aortic surgery. Dr Hiremath’s technique was accepted and published as an innovative technique in all major Cardiac and Vascular journals. His surgical technique has been lauded by international forums and is now being adopted and performed by many surgeons around the world with excellent results.
